1 AMAZING DAY OF HEALTH & WELLNESS FOR NEW MOMS AND MOMS-TO-BE !!!!

It started out with a beautiful day in the park.  While The New Mom Fair was coming together inside the Burlingame Recreation Center, families were enjoying the gorgeous weather, wonderful food, drinks, and desserts at the 6th Annual World Breastfeeding Week Picnic Potluck co-sponsored by Mills-Peninsula Health Services, the Peninsula Breastfeeding Center, and Babiesandmoms.com.

The New Mom Fair swung into action outside with activities put on by The Little Gym of Millbrae and Belmont for babies and their moms and for toddlers as well.  Live music was provided by "Upbeat" featuring Merenda Ramirez (vocals) and Kate Janzen (keyboards) for over two hours.  Children and adults alike enjoyed covers from Disney to Sara Bareilles to Rihanna to Coldplay and some originals written just for
The New Mom Fair.

Inside the Burlingame Recreation Center, things were starting to heat up as new parents and parents-to-be were treated to exhibitors from all segments of the health and wellness fields.  Everyone who registered received raffle tickets and a free gift bag loaded with specials from all of our generous conributors!

Moms were treated to skin treatments, full body and chair massages, facial threading, and henna tattoos, all for FREE!

Professional speakers educated and entertained parents on subjects ranging from controversies and myths surrounding breastfeeding, holistic pediatrics for your child's mind, body, and spirit, and getting a balanced start toward motherhood and the importance of structural and nutritional balance.  Thanks to Douglas Husbands, D.C., C.C.N, and Dr. Elisa Song and thanks to our special guest, Dr. Jack Newman packed the house making the audience laugh and learn together.  Thank you Dr. Newman!

As the day came to a close, raffle ticket holders were able to put their tickets into play for the prizes they wanted.  From breast pumps to photographic studio packages to life coach sessions to spa rewards, we gave it all away.  Loud shrieks of joy along with tears of happiness were shed.  Along with our families who won, The New Mom wants to thank EVERYONE who provided the prizes!!!

This year, we gave away over $5,000 in raffle prizes!!!

The wonderful staff from the Burlingame Recreation Center really helped pull it together working tightly with the staff from The New Mom.  We had many positive comments about the venue and the way in which it was organized and how help was administered swiftly.

After speaking to all of the exhibitors and getting feedback from our community who are always ready to let you know how they feel, the overall reaction to the event was extremely positive followed by pledges to join us again next year!  The New Mom will return next year with an even bigger event with a promise to remain focused on your health and wellness.  Thank you for a wonderful event!!
